$70,500 - $85,000 annually Based on experience, education and qualifications.
SUMMARY OVERVIEW
: The Director of Youth & Young Adult Faith Formation and Evangelization at Saint Timothy Catholic Church is responsible for the developing and leading an engaging ministry among high school and young adult parishioners that fosters discipleship, spiritual growth and community. This role builds a culture of evangelization by inviting young people to enter into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and an active participation in Church life and its mission.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
: Because all St. Timothy Church employees represent the Roman Catholic Church, they are expected to conduct themselves according to the goals and mission of the Church in performing their work. Develop and oversee a comprehensive Youth and Young Adult Ministry program encompassing a balance of spiritual, social and service events, including Life Nights, Retreats, Peer Leadership and Formation Prepare youth for the Sacrament of Confirmation in collaboration with the Pastor and diocese guidelines Recruit, train and lead CORE and Peer Leaders Ensure Safe Environment compliance of young adult and team leaders Foster a welcoming, safe and engaging environment for all youth
OTHER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
: Planning, managing and executing the Youth Ministry Budget Administrative duties, including maintaining databases and correspondence with parents Creating content for Marketing and Social Media Collaborating with Director of Faith Formation for incoming 9th graders Collaborating with other Faith Formation leaders for parish-wide retreats and events Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
:
REQUIRED
Practicing and fully initiated Roman Catholic in good standing Proficient knowledge of the teachings of the Catholic Church and Sacred Scripture Excellent communication skills and ability to connect with teens and young adults Ability to work evenings and weekends Has a minimum of three consecutive years' recent experience in parish youth ministry Bachelor's degree in Theology Master Catechist certification from the Diocese of Orange (or will begin the process within their first year and will complete the process with the first three years of employment)
REQUIRED
(continued): Ability to present the teachings of the Catholic Church accurately and without misrepresentation Experienced small group facilitator Pray for and with teens, parents and volunteers DESIRED Bilingual (Spanish & English) Master's Degree in Theology A familiarity with Life Teen and implementing their resources
