DESCRIPTION
Annunciation Church is looking for a new Director of Faith Formation to help our Parish discern how God is calling us forward.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, overseeing, and implementing programs, events and activities at Church of the Annunciation that pertain to faith formation including: Head OCIA Direct and oversee the Parish OCIA process in accordance with the norms of the Catholic Church and diocesan guidelines Coordinate weekly catechetical sessions, liturgical rites, and periods of discernment within the OCIA process Recruit, train, and support team members, including catechists, sponsors, and hospitality ministers Provide or arrange catechetical instruction on Catholic doctrine, sacraments, moral teaching, Scripture, and liturgy Accompany candidates and catechumans through spiritual formation and discernment Collaborate with clergy, especially the pastor, regarding sacramental preparation and admission to the sacraments. Maintain records of participants and track progress through stages of OCIA Plan and coordinate OCIA liturgical rites Foster a welcoming environment that encourages conversion, inquiry, and parish integration Communicate regularly with participants regarding schedules, expectations, and milestones. Elementary School Faith Formation Evaluate current parish approach and explore options to improve Oversee Sacramental Preparation (retreats, working with parents, teachers, parishioners, and others coming to the parish seeking sacraments) Confession Communion Confirmation (in conjunction with youth ministry) Matrimony (in conjunction with Director of Pastoral Care) Baptism (in conjunction with Director of Pastoral Care) Support summer Vacation Bible School Review and adapt curriculum Be onsite group lead week of camp Responsible for welcoming interested families and new parishioners, including: Follow up emails to all online or physical New Parishioner forms received Establishment of "Welcome Packet" to be delivered to all new parishioners Assignment of First Friends to individually welcome new community members Coordination of New Parishioner tables/passes to events like Pancake Breakfasts Support all Parish and School fundraising and community events Be present at events when possible Attend all staff meetings as required Oversee Sunday nursery staff and volunteers Oversee possible creation of parish small groups ie - Mom's Group, Young Adults, etc Coordinate and communicate with Pastor as issues arise. QUALIFICATIONS
Has a strong personal relationship with Jesus Possess a love for the Catholic faith and has a strong desire to share the faith Is a faithful, practicing Catholic (if married, the marriage is recognized by the Church) Will be faithful to the Magisterium of the Church in his or her teaching Love for the Eucharist Zeal for the salvation of souls Ability to facilitate and manage meetings and group gatherings Work well with all ages Comfortable praying with others Computer skills required Possess valid driver's license Possess the education/training to delegate, supervise, and empower others Successfully complete all Archdiocesan Essential Three
