DESCRIPTION
The Church of St Mary's, Waverly seeks a part-time (.5FTE) Faith Formation Director. The vision of our parish is that we grow our faith community and deepen our encounter with Jesus, the Risen Lord through worship, learning and service. This position will be responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring our volunteer catechists. We are currently using a family-based model of instruction. The Faith Formation director will be responsible for leading the once-a-month Wednesday evening sessions with parents. In addition, the parish this fall will establish a Sunday afternoon Mass and formation time beginning in September. Therefore, the bulk of hours during the week will concentrate on Tuesday mornings, Wednesdays and Sunday afternoon, early evening. Applications are now being accepted for the beginning date of 1 August 2026. Demonstration of experience in education and formation is required. QUALIFICATIONS
Responsibilities Recruit, train and mentor volunteer catechists Lead monthly Wednesday evening parent sessions Communicate with parents, catechists and other volunteers through Flock note. Oversee faith formation registration Coordinate first reconciliation, first communion and Confirmation program Oversee budget, policies and procedures for all areas of Faith Formation Follow all Archdiocesan Code of Conduct Requirements and Safe Environment policies
