Young Dads MinistryDirector
Position Summary
Young Dads reaches expectant and parenting young fathers (ages 21 and under) through intentional relationships, trained volunteers, and community partnerships.
Through a holistic approach, Young Dads seeks to equip young fathers to make healthy choices, grow as parents, further their education and life goals, become responsible providers, and develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.
The role of the Young Dads Director is to serve as a minister of the Gospel by building authentic Christ-sharing relationships with young fathers and engaging volunteers in relational ministry. Under the direction of the Ministry Supervisor, and in collaboration with the Parent Life Ministry Site Director, the Young Dads Director is responsible for developing, growing, and sustaining the Young Dads ministry in Willmar, MN while helping create a coordinated ministry approach that serves young fathers, young families, and their children.
The Young Dads Director is a professional ministry position that requires spiritual maturity, organizational leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to recruit, equip, and lead volunteers. This individual must embrace and model

POSITION FLEXIBILITY
This position may be filled as a stand-alone part-time Young Dads Director role. For candidates seeking full-time ministry employment, this position may be combined with the open Juvenile Justice Ministry (JJM) Site Director position, creating a full-time ministry opportunity. This unique opportunity allows a qualified individual to serve in two strategic ministry areas while creating a full-time ministry position. Candidates interested in a combined role should indicate their interest during the application process.
Essential Job Functions and Duties Ministry Program Development (40%)
Develop and lead regular group gatherings for expectant and parenting young fathers.
Pursue intentional one-on-one relationships with young dads through mentoring, support, and discipleship.
Collaborate regularly with the Parent Life Director and Parent Life Ministry Site Director to ensure holistic support, coordinated programming, and healthy ministry growth for young parents and their children.
Connect young fathers with resources and practical assistance, including transportation, parenting support, education, employment resources, housing assistance, and other community services.
Foster relationships with community partners to expand ministry reach and impact.
Maintain accurate records and complete required monthly and quarterly reports.
Attend and participate in staff meetings, retreats, trainings, ministry events, and community events.
Volunteer Recruitment and Development (40%)
Recruit, train, and support volunteers in accordance with the processes outlined in the Find. Keep. Win. Knowledge Base.
Build strong partnerships with local churches to strengthen volunteer engagement and ministry support.
Develop and conduct church presentations and volunteer recruitment opportunities.
Collaborate with local ministries and organizations to identify volunteers, mentors, and ministry partners.
Provide ongoing support, coaching, and accountability to volunteers to ensure a healthy and growing ministry.
Develop and maintain a prayer team for the Young Dads ministry and communicate ministry updates regularly.
Community Development and Fundraising (20%)
All YFC employees are expected to participate in the stewardship and fundraising efforts of the organization. Responsibilities may include personal support raising, fundraising events, donor development, and other stewardship opportunities.
Pursue and cultivate relationships with potential ministry partners and supporters.
Contribute to ministry communications, including newsletters, impact stories, and donor updates.
Represent YFC and Young Dads through presentations at churches, service organizations, schools, and community events.
Communicate the mission, vision, and impact of Young Dads and Youth For Christ to constituents and supporters.

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
Previous ministry experience, including volunteer leadership, preferred.
Experience working with youth, young adults, young fathers, or young families is preferred.
Fundraising ResponsibilitiesAll YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC USA. These activities may include, but are not limited to, inviting others to fundraising events, cultivating donor relationships, recruiting personal ministry partners, writing notes and letters, making personal calls, and personally ministering to supporters in ways that strengthen the mission and ministry of Youth For Christ.
