Job Description
The Director of Children s Ministries primary objectives are to evangelize and disciple children and resource parents and families in developing positive and healthy Christian homes. She or he must be experienced in all areas of children s ministry, able to lead a volunteer staff, and teach, train and recruit workers for nursery through 5 th grade programs. He or she must be able to relate to both children and parents, be creative and progressive in the way they view children s ministry and have the heart and passion for not only the churched, but also the unchurched children in the community. Responsibilities Oversee weekly children's ministry programs from nursery through 5th grade, including nursery, Sunday school, children's church and Bible studies. Develop and disciple the youth through regular meetings, retreats, and classes Develop age-appropriate curriculum that integrates biblical teachings with engaging activities to foster faith and character building. Recruit, train, and organize volunteers. Organize special events such as holiday celebrations, summer camps, and community service projects that promote fellowship and service. Oversee safety protocols and ensure all activities comply with health guidelines and child protection policies. Collaborate with church leadership to align children s ministry goals with the overall mission of the organization. Develop and oversee the budget for Children's Ministries. Participate in various administrative meetings, working with staff and church committees, and serve on Central's Day School Board. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree, preferably in the Christian Education field. Committed to a growing relationship with Christ. Experience working with children in educational, religious, or social service settings; prior leadership roles preferred. Demonstrated ability to plan events and manage multiple projects simultaneously with enthusiasm and attention to detail. Passion for mentoring youth and fostering a nurturing environment grounded in faith-based values, and a desire to see children have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Leadership, organizational, and computer skills required. Pastoral Care preferred -- especially children, youth, and women. Ability to inspire teamwork through energetic leadership and positive reinforcement.
