Full-time, Ministry Staff (45 hours/week)Schedule:
Variable; Sunday Mornings and Wednesday nightsJob Purpose and Goals:
The Associate Director of Youth works in collaboration with the Youth Ministry Team to lead a unified 6th-12th grade ministry that helps students know, love, and follow Jesus. This role includes shared leadership for weekly environments, events, volunteer development, and student discipleship across all ages. While each Associate Director will share full ownership of the youth ministry, each will also have specific ministry lanes (teaching coordination, events, etc.) based on gifting, skill, and ministry needs. We are looking for someone who loves Jesus, enjoys teamwork, has a great sense of humor, and has a passion for connecting with students to lead them in the next step in their relationship with Jesus. The 5Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Leadership, Management and Accountability (Volunteers) Collaborate with the other Associate Director to ensure volunteer systems are unified and healthy across all youth environments Ensure volunteers are aligned to shared vision and are empowered to execute their primary responsibilities, adjusting when necessary Ability to work through youth volunteers, leading through leaders Resolve conflict as needed with the support of the Managing Director of Next Gen Nurture a healthy team environment, recognizing and rewarding volunteers' contributions, including checking in with volunteers once a semester Consistently model LBC staff Core Values Coordination of Gatherings and Events Shared Responsibilities Partner with Youth Team for Student Ministry Night Lead or co-lead events throughout the year (retreats, camp, outreach events, etc.) Partner with Youth Team to plan, coordinate, and execute Youth Camp Support the creation of cohesive, age-appropriate yet unified curriculum, programming rhythms, and ministry experience Lane-Specific Responsibilities (each Associate Director will be assigned 3-4 lanes) Teaching team coordination and curriculum planning Events and retreats leadership Volunteer Development New Guest Process and follow-up Parent Communication Strategy Sunday morning environment Oversight Student Connection and Discipleship Connect with new students after their first visit Help students find areas to serve based on their interests and gifting Intentionally seek out students to encourage them in the next steps in their relationship with Jesus Meet with students regularly to build relationships Support students throughout transitions in Youth Ministry Teaching Be part of the teaching rotation for Activate and Student Ministry Night Teaching frequency for both events is based on comfortability and skill set Parent Resource Be a point of contact for questions and concerns about Youth Ministry Provide support, counsel, and care for parents about their student Reach out to parents with encouragement or concerns as neededCompetencies and Skills:
Experience interacting with various people in various settings, willing to engage people in conversation Strong team player that can bring their very best to a staff and volunteer team. Strategic thinker, problem-solver, and communicator Self-motivated and able to lead tasks or projects to completion.Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree required Experience in youth ministry preferred and a desire to stay in student ministry for the next few yearsCharacter, Calling and Chemistry:
