Full-time, non-exempt, benefits eligible
Position Summary:
Functions as an integral member of the parish staff. Contributes to the faith formation, on-going development and active outreach of parishioners. Works with volunteers in establishing and attaining parish ministry goals. Will be required to attend scheduled evening and weekend meetings. This position requires flexible work scheduling.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate Adult Faith Formation
  • Oversee/ Serve as Staff Liaison for all Small Groups and lead groups as necessary
  • Facilitate and build Young Adult Group including faith formation, newlywed gatherings, young family gatherings with parents of newly baptized and young adult outings Coordinate Sacramental Preparation Marriage, OCIA and Adult Confirmation
  • Registration, Interviews and Welcoming
  • Create Schedules
  • Preparation (Lead Classes, Oversee and Recruit Volunteers and Sponsors)
  • Rites and Celebrations:
    plan and schedule, prepare binders, prepare candidates and catechumens
  • Plan, organize and facilitate retreats
  • Prepare certificates upon celebration of sacraments
  • Accurately record celebration of sacraments in sacramental record book
  • Coordinate OCIA Liturgy:
    Rite of Acceptance, Rite of Sending, Rite of Election, Scrutinies, Dismissals, Initiation
  • Coordinate period of Mystagogia
  • Coordinate Adult Confirmation Program and prepare for celebration Coordinate Liturgical Ministries Schedule or oversee scheduling as Staff Liaison, train volunteers, including special holy days, prepare binders for special Masses, prayers of the faithful (weekly)
Coordinate Community Building/Prayer Activities Surrounding Liturgical Events Other:
Attend Staff Meetings and All-Community Events Be present, available and approachable before and after Masses to answer questions, assist parishioners, etc. Participate in
Volunteer Ministry Appreciation and Outreach Maintain Department Budget Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven ability in excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills and an understanding of faith development. Must be able to prioritize workload to meet program requirements. Ability to work both independently and as a member of our pastoral team. Must be flexible, creative and responsible.
  • Able to be creative, use independent judgment and take action to solve problems.
  • Collaborates well with others.
  • Skilled with Microsoft and Social Media.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be an actively practicing Catholic, in good standing with the Church. Additionally, he/she is a person of prayer who is committed to the authentic teaching of the Catholic faith. Demonstrated ability to successfully conduct workshops and lead small groups. Three years' experience in parish ministry or related field.
Physical Demands:
