Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries Hatfield, PA Saint Maria Goretti Parish is looking for a full-time, Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries. This encompasses the post high school, high school, middle school and elementary sessions, activities, service, catechesis and appropriate fundraising. Work with young adult and adolescent catechesis to continue to grow existing SMG programs by coordinating the recruitment, training, supporting, and evaluating of volunteers.
Foster the involvement of young people in the life of the parish and in parish and community activities.
Provide appropriate training for adults and young people in leadership positions.
Evaluate and make recommendations of outside programs such as retreats, camps, and other types of programsProvide resources (print, video, archdiocesan events) for effective programming.
Develop and promote fundraising programs as needed.
Maintain accurate records
Support Parish efforts as needed.
Contributes to team efforts for a professional office environment and maintains good working relationships with all parish and diocesan staff. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required The successful candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic.
Knowledge of Diocesan guidelines and procedures, highly desirable.
Demonstrated attention to detail, time management and multi-tasking skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsFlexibility in processes and work schedule Ability to work collaboratively with the parish staff, catechists and parishioners. Must be available during day, evening and weekend hours to meet the ministry needs for the Parish. Demonstrated organizational, people and computer skills (including WORD, Excel, Power-Point, Zoom, MS Office products, Outlook e-mail, Parish Data System, Canva).Office for Child and Youth Protection Clearances Education Required M.A. or B.A. in Theology or Education, or extensive experience

40 hours a week Purpose and Scope Under the general direction of the pastor, the employee is responsible for providing vision and coordination for the parish's efforts in ministry to young people in the Parish- to direct Youth and Young Adult Ministries.

Protecting God's Children Archdiocesan Training Salary Range:
$50,000- $59,000 annually (based on experience)
Specific Events or Program Responsibilities EVENTS:
- Oversee the VBS program (Responsible for recruiting volunteers and acting as a liaison for the volunteers to bring a successful week of VBS to the parish). This year is July 20-24th. Volunteers are already organized and planning. Registration is finished as well.
- Organize & recruit volunteers for Living Nativity and attend. (Monday in Advent).
- Organize, recruit volunteers for Easter Egg Hunt and attend. (Holy Saturday)
- Work with Goretti Fest Committee to provide vendors & volunteers for Kids area at Goretti Fest. (September)
- Trunk or Treat Event
- Coordinate teen/family volunteers to carry this out. (Week prior to Halloween).
- Coordinate and organize taking the Highschool students to Steubenville Conference. This year is June 19th-21st. (Volunteers will complete this year if new hire is unable to do so this weekend).
- 3 Summer Family Movie Nights (in lieu of summer weekly meetings).
- Of campus community pop-up events (such as night at the Broad Theatre or local park).
WEEKLY:
Lais for the mother & toddler group (Wednesdays 9:30 AM- 11:00 AM) This group is run by volunteers but check in with the group to establish relationships. Visit occasionally to connect them with programs for older children (elementary youth, etc.) Elementary Youth Group (Tuesday Evenings) 6:45 PM
- 8PM Work with the volunteers who plan, organize and moderate the weekly meetings. This group meets 3 times a month. (3rd week of the month Youth Groups do not meet, instead all families are invited to join the parish for adoration, confession, night prayers & potluck. This occurs the third Thursday of every month.) Middle School (During PREP) Monday Evening 6:30 PM
- 8PM Work with (CRE) to lead the 6th / 7th grade classes. This is a combination of youth ministry and catechesis. Recruit your team to work alongside. This is a group of 50-60 kids. 6:30
- 7:00 PM Pizza, socializing or games 7:00 PM
- 8:00 PM Prayer & catechesis, using "Chosen", "Decision Points" or another approved curriculum/materials decided by CRE and team. High School Meetings Tuesday Evening 7PM
- 8:30 PM Plan & lead meetings.
