Job Description Saint Clement's Church is a parish in the heart of downtown Philadelphia where the faith comes alive. We seek a full-time Rector to nurture our hearts and minds and set our hope in the good news of Jesus Christ. We are committed to serving Christ as a parish in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. Inspired by the Oxford Movement, we seek to "worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness" (Psalm 96:2) through offering Mass according to the English Missal with music of a high standard and to "serve all people, particularly the poor, the weak, the sick, and the lonely." (BCP, p. 543) We are a diverse, vibrant, growing urban congregation united by our faith, transcendent worship, and the bonds of charity. We seek a Rector who will serve as an example of prayerfulness and holiness of life, energetically grow our parish, reach out to our city, and serve the poor. From the altar and pulpit to the homes of parishioners and the streets and hospitals of Philadelphia, we hope our Rector will embrace pastoral care as integral to the priestly calling. At Saint Clement's, prayer and worship are central to our mission. Every day we offer Mass and the Divine Office. On Sundays and Holy Days, Mass is accompanied by our professional music program — always the "humble handmaid" of the liturgy.
