Job Description

Lake Ann United Methodist Church is in the village of Lake Ann, Mich. We are an intergenerational community of faith that is striving to help people know God, love God & serve God. Lake Ann UMC is a welcoming church for people of all ages. Our worship services are engaging and relevant for people's lives.
Job Title:
Director of Family Ministries Position:
Full Time, 40 hours/week average throughout the year {Sundays and 2-4 weekdays required). Part Time position also negotiable.
Health Care:
Up to $10,000 for Affordable Care Act Plan Date posted: May, 2026 Preschool Ministry Oversee weekly Playgroup, which welcomes local families into the Community Center and Naturescape. Communicate through regular emails to local families on upcoming events and news. Cleaning up in the Gym, Lobby, Nursery, and Naturescape. Children's Ministry Welcome new families and give them a lay of the land on Sunday Mornings. Making sure they know what is available to them and their kids. Plan and implement lesson plans for Sunday School, including crafts, games, songs, teachings, and prayer time. Provide a place for children to belong in service (if they decide to stay in service) Follow up with families that have been absent for a couple of weeks. Organize Summer Outreach events, like Vacation Bible School. Youth Ministry Provide a safe environment for students to come and talk about life and faith on a weekly basis. Make lesson plans for Youth Group, including games, activities, teachings/discussions, and prayer time. Plan community events that focus on building the relationship of students and volunteers through fellowship, fun, and food. Attend games, shows, and other major events in the lives of the students. Family Ministry Plan monthly events for families and members of the church to engage in and experience intergenerational ministry and fellowship. Follow up and provide care for families going through hard times. Show up for the celebrations in the lives of the families, when invited. Communicate through calls, emails, texts, and newsletters to update and check in with families. Encourage and assist with summer church camp for children and youth. Administrative Responsibilities Keep track of the budget for all areas of ministry, keeping your own records of expenses and donations. Fill out and turn in any recipes and reimbursement requests for the above listed ministries. Invite, coach, and lead members of the congregation to use their gifts, talents, and abilities in the ministries listed about. Manage the Children Protection Guidelines, which includes keeping all volunteers up to date on background checks and safety training. Working with the Office Administrator to communicate with the congregation, posting on social media, updating the website, and reserving in the church building for events. Organize and schedule volunteers for all areas of ministry. Other Tasks Attend other Church events Follow through on other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the
