Job Description
The Young Adult Ministry Director is responsible for leading and discipling young adults at Blue Ridge Community Fellowship. This person has a passion and vision for the ministry and desires to help young people understand their identity in Christ, grow as servant leaders, and live as Gospel witnesses in the world. The Director oversees all Young Adult (midweek) ministry programming, cultivates a strong volunteer leadership culture, and builds lasting relationships with students, families, and young adults to support their spiritual growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ministry Programming- Partner with the Lead Pastor to carry out Blue Ridge's vision for young adults.
- Lead weekly Bible studies and discipleship opportunities.
- Select and prepare curriculum, teaching materials, and media resources.
- Coordinate speakers, lessons, and special events (retreats, service projects, social events).
- Connect new attendees into the ministry and engage local college students.
- Manage registration, attendance, scheduling, and volunteer coordination in Planning Center.
- Oversee budget, purchases, and resource stewardship.
- Ensure all spaces are prepared and maintained for gatherings. Volunteer Development
- Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers for leadership and teaching roles.
- Foster spiritual growth, teamwork, and accountability among ministry leaders.
- Identify training and development opportunities for volunteers.
COMMITMENT
Part-time position requiring on-site presence for midweek gatherings, events, staff meetings, and periodic check-ins.QUALIFICATIONS
- Mature, growing relationship with Jesus Christ; clear expression of faith.
- Heart for discipling young adults and serving the local church.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- 2+ years of ministry or relevant experience preferred.
- Able to work collaboratively, resolve conflicts graciously, and maintain confidentiality.
- Full alignment with Blue Ridge's mission, values, and doctrine.
