Job Description As the flagship parish of the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia, St. John's seeks a rector who can guide the parish into a new chapter of connection, clarity, and spiritual depth. We have a strong desire for leadership that strengthens community life, engages new and existing members, and helps the parish articulate a shared mission and vision. We are looking for a priest with excellent preaching, strong communication skills, and a warm, approachable presence. We seek a collaborative leader who can delegate well, empower lay leadership, and engage a motivated and caring congregation to envision a future for St. John's in Roanoke. The leadership style that will best support St. John's is collaborative, relational, and visionary. We seek someone who can inspire, listen well, manage change thoughtfully, and help the parish live more fully into its identity as a welcoming, intergenerational, and service-oriented community.
