Job Description

General Description:
The International Admissions Advisor will be responsible for representing Illinois Institute of Technology at public, recruitment and alumni events, counseling of prospective students for higher education to Illinois Institute of Technology and working with our operations staff for the understanding of application processes and requirements, credential evaluation, and decision making. This position will be an integral member of the team and assist in meeting enrollment goals as well as establishing and deepening relationships with campus community members, guidance counselors, placement offices, prospective student, parents and channel partners. This will include visits to local schools, universities, channel partners, and other recruitment and yield activities, both in-person and virtually. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of International Recruitment, the International Admissions Advisor will be responsible for representing Illinois Institute of Technology on a full-time basis within their assigned territories.

Required:
    Education:
    Minimum of a bachelor's degree is preferred.
    • Familiarity or experience in working within international admissions and/or enrollment is necessary.
    • Must have at least one year of experience in representing a university or counseling students for study abroad.
    Preferred:
    • Civic minded and committed to higher education and international exchange.
    • Experience working with CRM lead/prospect management system for an educational institution.
    • Experience with cold calling, university recruitment calling or working in a call-center environment.
    Other requirements &
    Travel:
    • Must be able to sit at a desk/computer station for long periods of time.
    • Up to 30% of domestic and international travel required.
    • Must be able to read computer screens, listen to audio tones, and speak to customers and agents.
    • Due to the nature of the recruitment business, the position has high requirement of evening and weekend hours.
    The International Admissions Advisor must be flexible to work before 9 a.m., until 5 p.m., and/or hours on Saturdays and/or Sundays, as needed.
    Knowledge & Skills:
    • Should have excellent communication and writing skills.
    • Should be very organized, goal oriented, able to multi-task and possess good leadership skills.
    Computer Skills:
    Experience with MS Office suites and Outlook. High proficiency in MS Excel is a must.
    • Should possess excellent interpersonal skills, presentation skills, public speaking, and confidence in interacting with intuitional leadership, school principals, administrators and campus executives and government officials.
