Job Description

Position Description:
To serve as a representative of Barton Community College by assisting the Office of Admissions & Promotions in the recruitment of potential students.
STUDENTS MUST HAVE HAD AN INTERVIEW WITH ADMISSIONS PRIOR TO FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION.
Position Responsibilities:
49.00%
  • Conducting campus tours for individuals/groups on a scheduled and walk-in basis. 21.00%
  • Assist with the daily operations in the Admissions & Promotion office. 5.00%
  • Assist with other recruitment activities as needed.
(
Ex:
college events, community events, etc.) 5.00%
  • Assist with walk-in students and help to guide them through the admissions process. 5.00%
  • Assist Admissions Office with other functions as needed. 5.00%
  • Assist other Barton offices as needed.

To perform general office duties in a responsible, accurate, and confidential manner To be knowledgeable of Barton including key information to assist prospective students and visitors To be an integral component of the Admissions team To be a representative of Barton Community College in an academic, professional, and personal manner To be on time and prepared to assist prospective students. To adhere to department and college expectations including handling of confidential information.

Physical Requirements:
The work requires minor physical exertion such as short periods of standing, walking over rough uneven surfaces, some recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities. Job may require recurring lifting of lightweight objects with infrequent bending or stooping alternating with the lighter activities. Job requires minimal agility and dexterity. Occasional exposure to objectionable conditions or variations such as those found in variable weather conditions or light industrial settings.
Wages/Other:
This position pays $9.00per hour.

Assist with the daily operations in the Office of Admissions & Promotion which includes but not limited to filing, data entry, mailings, and other general office duties. Answer phone calls and properly assist and/or direct callers as needed. Assist walk-in students and help to guide them through the admissions process. Assist with Admissions Office with other functions, serve and assist visitors, assist other Barton offices, and assist with other recruitment activities (ex-community events, etc). Conduct campus tours for individuals/groups, to be knowledgeable of Barton including key information to assist prospective students and visitors.
