Job Description

TITLE:
Admissions Counselor
BARGAINING UNIT/SALARY RANGE
MEA Administrators Level II Range $40,439.24-$52,764.01
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Admissions Counselor supports the Director of Admissions in a variety of student recruitment and enrollment activities designed to promote student success and college enrollment. Responsibilities include conducting campus tours, attending college fairs, interviewing prospective students, reviewing admissions materials, assisting with applicant testing, maintaining accurate data entry, and communicating with prospective and admitted students through letters, phone calls, email, and other outreach efforts. The position also coordinates adult and part-time admissions to credit programs, conducts virtual recruitment activities, visits high schools, agencies, employers, and home sites, and assists in the development and implementation of the College's marketing and recruitment strategies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and prior experience in Admissions or closely related field.
Desirable:
Master's degree. Valid Driver's License and current US Passport.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in both large group presentations and one-on-one settings. Knowledge of computerized student information systems and campus technology, particularly as they relate to admissions, recruitment, and presentations. Familiarity with college policies and procedures related to curriculum, financial aid, housing, budgeting, billing/purchasing, and facility usage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a working knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies affecting college students, including FERPA, ADA, and SEVIS. Ability to travel independently to remote locations, provide and follow directions accurately, adapt to changing priorities, solve unexpected problems effectively, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
