$23.98•$34.69 Job Description The Admissions Representative plays an important role in the recruitment and outreach initiatives of South Central College (SCC) to enroll new students. The primary objective is to meet or exceed SCC's enrollment goals at both the North Mankato and Faribault campuses. This position serves as a primary link between prospective students and the college in all matters related to the admissions process, including initiating and maintaining follow-up contact with students using a variety of communication methods (email, phone, etc.). The Admissions Representative communicates promptly and professionally with prospective students, families, school counselors, and other community partners and influencers to promote and facilitate student enrollment at SCC. This position provides individual and group presentations and tours that highlight the educational opportunities available at SCC, and frequently travels to represent the college at high school visits, college and career fairs, and other recruitment events.
Responsibilities:
1. Implement SCC recruitment strategies and assist students in the admissions process. Represent SCC at a variety of student recruitment events, including regional and local college fairs, high school college and career events, and community or industry events. Schedule and attend high school visits in order to meet with individual students, groups of students, and school counselors to provide information about SCC. Establish and cultivate professional relationships with school counselors, learning centers, and community and industry partners to promote a positive image of SCC and expand the college's student recruitment efforts. Create, refine, and deliver small and large group presentations for both on and off-campus events such as information sessions, open houses, school group visits, and campus tours. Utilize the Integrated Statewide Record System (ISRS) and other platforms to access and record student data and to advise prospective students of their admissions status. Reply promptly and professionally to student information inquiries using a variety of communication methods (email, phone, etc.), including shared responsibility for the Admissions email inbox. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of admissions and financial aid policies and procedures at the college, system, state, and federal levels in order to communicate this information to prospective students and help facilitate their recruitment. Maintain updated knowledge of SCC academic program requirements and student support services in order to communicate this information to prospective students and help facilitate their recruitment. Advise newly admitted students of their next steps to support their successful transition from prospective students to enrolled SCC students. 2. Perform administrative functions to support SCC's admissions and recruitment operations. Coordinate recruitment travel details, including independently scheduling appointments, making transportation and lodging arrangements, and submitting expenses in a timely manner. Record information about student interactions and outreach efforts on a daily basis. Contribute to the successful operation of the Welcome Center (North Mankato) and Student Affairs Center (Faribault), including providing support to the front desk as needed. Collaborate with Financial Aid to support students with their scholarship and financial aid applications. Collaborate with Secondary Relations to support student outreach initiatives. Collaborate with other SCC departments (Academic Advising, Registration, TRIO, etc.) to support students in their transition from prospective students to enrolled SCC students. Assist with the coordination and execution of National Technical Signing Day. Make recommendations for updates to the SCC website as needed and requested. Assist with admissions document processing during high-volume timeframes. 3. Perform other duties to support SCC's operations. Seek professional development opportunities to enhance skills and help achieve college goals. Serve on college committees as appropriate and/or as requested. Execute other duties as assigned by the supervisor to aid in the successful operation of the college.
Salary Range:
$24.40•$35.30 per hour Minimum Qualifications Two years of work experience in customer service, sales, marketing, education, or a related field. Degrees may substitute for experience as follows: Associates = 6 months; Bachelors = 12 months. Experience providing services to others in a customer-focused employment setting. Strong written, interpersonal, and public speaking skills to present information to internal and external audiences. Experience organizing and prioritizing one's own work. Experience working with diverse populations, perspectives, and abilities. Experience utilizing office technology. Ability to travel in the State of Minnesota with a valid driver's license. Preferred Qualification Ability to write and speak in multiple languages such as Somali, Spanish, etc. Multilingual or multicultural background or experience working with underserved populations. Experience providing services in a higher education setting. Understanding of the structure of academic programs offered at the post-secondary level. Knowledge of student-related policies and procedures typically found in higher education. Other Requirements South Central College is unable to sponsor applicants for work visas.
