ExemptPOSITION SUMMARY
The Admissions Representative is responsible to the Vice President of Enrollment Management. The position is full-time and offers benefits as specified in the employee handbook. The Admissions Representative represents the University in the recruitment and attraction of students through the enrollment process. Employee must possess a vibrant, personal Christian faith including a clear testimony of Christian conversion and be actively involved in an evangelical, preferably Southern Baptist, church.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Represent Hannibal-LaGrange University and recruit students through recruitment events. These include, but are not limited to, high school visitations, college fairs, conventions, and church programs. Make formal presentations to groups of students and parents on campus and in the community. Some overnight travel is required. Counsel prospective students in the areas of admissions procedures and policies, financial aid procedures, academic programs and career opportunities. Answer questions prospective students and families may have about the University and/or connect them with the appropriate offices on campus. This may be in person, on the telephone, or written communication. Work with the Vice President of Enrollment Management to develop and articulate a recruitment and communication plan to effectively meet recruitment goals. Promote marketing strategies that will enhance enrollment opportunities. Establish a good rapport and nurture relationships with high school counselors, pastoral staffs, and influencers of other institutions and community agencies. Maintain an extensive follow-up program for applicants and prospective students. Participate in the planning and implementation of events sponsored by the Enrollment Management Department. Assist in the activities assigned by the Vice President of Enrollment Management.DEPARTMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS
Admissions representatives work directly with the Office of the Registrar, Office of Financial Aid, Office of Student Life, Office of Computer Services, and Academic Departments. The Admissions Representative has contact with all campus entities.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must possess the ability to work in a multi-task environment. Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to perform basic computer transactions and data entry. Must show initiative, be able to work independently, and exhibit good judgment. Must show skill in motivating people, talking to others to convey information effectively. Must demonstrate effective and creative problem-solving skills. Must present Hannibal-LaGrange University in a positive manner. Must present a professional appearance. Must have values consistent with the mission and purpose of Hannibal-LaGrange University. Must agree to, sign off on, and abide by the standards of employment in the employment application, in the contract, and in the employee handbook.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING
Must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook. Preference will be given to Hannibal-LaGrange University graduates.
