Job Description

Position Overview Christian Brothers Academy seeks a dedicated and experienced College Counselor to join our vibrant educational community. As a Lasallian Catholic institution, we are committed to fostering academic excellence, faith formation, and character development. The College Counselor will play a crucial role in guiding students and families through the college search, application, and decision-making process. Key Responsibilities Provide personalized college counseling to students and families. Educate students and parents about the college admissions process, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities. Support students in developing strong application materials, including resumes, essays, and recommendation requests. Advise students on academic matters and course selection. Maintain relationships with college admissions representatives and host visits to our campus. Collaborate with faculty, administration, and counselors to identify and support students' academic and career goals. Organize and coordinate standardized testing programs (e.g., PSAT, SAT). Assist students with NCAA eligibility processes when applicable. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in counseling, education, or related field preferred. Experience in college counseling, preferably in a high school setting. Strong understanding of the college admissions landscape, including trends and best practices. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Commitment to the mission and values of Lasallian Catholic education. Ability to maintain confidentiality and build trusting relationships with students and families. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Naviance, Scoir, or other college counseling platforms. Experience working in a Lasallian or Catholic school environment.
