Job Description

Job Description This posting is for a full-time, 12-month, 40 hours per week, exempt position. The position is responsible for recruiting high school students into the freshman class at the University of Findlay. In representing the University, this will require frequent overnight travel to visit high schools and attend college fairs, especially in the fall. Essential Functions This position requires regular, predictable, reliable attendance in the office environment. 1. Implements a comprehensive recruitment plan in the assigned territory. Activities may include but are not limited to high school visitation, community college visitation, college fair participation, and personalized communication (telephone, email, text, and social media). 2. Provides potential students and their parents with information about UF in a broad, all-inclusive manner, including areas such as academic major choice, co-curricular activities, housing, financial aid and scholarship opportunities and awards, and on-campus participation in traditional events. 3. Ability to work independently, and to arrange information sessions, set appointments and promote UF in a positive manner. 4. Manages the University communication plan throughout the life cycle of the student enrollment process. 5. Participates in on-campus events throughout the enrollment process, including but not limited to preview days, overnight events, scholarship events, registration days, and move-in day. These will include required, weekend work time. 6. Establishes and maintains working relationships with high school counselors in the assigned territory. 7. Encourages students to visit campus. Schedules and participates in campus visitation of students from assigned territory or as requested. 8. Utilizes the College CRM system to manage the student enrollment process monitor the communication plan, progress on goals and objectives. 9. Assume other responsibilities as directed by the supervisor. 10. Perform all other duties deemed appropriate for this position. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time 12-month position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some evening and weekend work, and frequent overnight travel are expectations of this position. Travel A valid US Drivers' license with a safe driving record is required, and the energy and ability to travel. Some overnight travel is expected of this position. Required Education and Experience 1. Bachelors' degree. 2. 18 months of related industry experience. 3. Excellent public speaking skills. 4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Preferred Education and Experience 1. Event planning with coordination experience is helpful. 2. Work effectively with others to achieve common goals and an ability to alter planned activities in order to accommodate new or changed situations.
