Job Description

Admission Director The Admission Director is responsible for overseeing the admissions process for a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or nursing home, ensuring smooth resident transitions, census growth, and strong referral relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, and community partners. This hybrid role combines onsite resident admissions and facility tours with remote marketing, referral management, and administrative responsibilities. The Admission Director works closely with nursing, therapy, social services, and finance teams to coordinate timely admissions while maintaining compliance with Florida AHCA regulations and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.

401K retirement plan Key Responsibilities Admissions & Intake Coordinate all resident admissions, transfers, and discharges. Review referral packets, insurance verification, and clinical eligibility. Communicate with hospitals, discharge planners, physicians, and families regarding admissions. Conduct facility tours for prospective residents and families. Ensure admission paperwork is complete and compliant with state and federal regulations. Collaborate with nursing staff to determine appropriate placement and bed availability. Marketing & Business Development Develop and maintain referral relationships with: Hospitals Assisted living facilities Physicians Case managers Rehabilitation centers Community organizations Conduct outreach visits and networking activities throughout assigned Florida territories. Participate in healthcare events, community fairs, and professional networking opportunities. Support census growth initiatives and occupancy goals. Resident & Family Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective residents and families. Educate families on services, insurance coverage, Medicare/Medicaid processes, and financial options. Ensure a compassionate and seamless transition into the facility. Address concerns promptly and professionally. Administrative & Compliance Maintain accurate admission records in EMR/EHR systems. Track admissions metrics, referral sources, and census reports.
Ensure compliance with:
Florida AHCA regulations HIPAA requirements Medicare/Medicaid guidelines Facility policies and procedures Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and census review discussions. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Marketing, Social Work, or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of admissions, marketing, or business development experience in: Skilled nursing facility (SNF) Long-term care Rehabilitation center Healthcare setting Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and insurance authorization processes. Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills. Experience with EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office. Preferred Florida long-term care or SNF experience. Existing relationships with Florida hospital systems and referral networks. Experience with PointClickCare or similar SNF software. Understanding of PDPM reimbursement and census management. Work Environment Hybrid role with onsite facility presence and remote administrative/community outreach responsibilities. Frequent travel within local Florida market for referral development. May require occasional evenings or weekends for events and admissions coordination.
