Manages a recruitment territory to assist in achieving both individual and University enrollment goals, Travels extensively (both daytime and overnight) to visit high schools and community colleges within a specific recruitment region in Tennessee, Provides support to prospects, visiting students, applicants, and admitted students via telephone, email, chat, social media, and in-person., Makes oral presentations to groups of various sizes both on and off campus; providing information concerning (but not limited to) admission requirements, policies and procedures, transfer assistance, general financial aid and scholarship information, residence life, and cost of attendance. Reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions and serves as a member of the Admissions Office team while managing a recruitment territory and working toward achieving the enrollment goals of Tennessee Tech. Travels extensively (both daytime and overnight) to visit high schools across the state of TN, in addition to events in other states as needed. Admissions Counselors are a key source of information for all prospective students, parents, school counselors, and departments across campus. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Making daily presentations to groups of various sizes both on and off campus. Giving tours for the Campus VIP program. Representing Tennessee Tech at college fairs, private visits and other recruiting events for high school students. Building relationships with prospective students via social media, email, phone calls, and in-person. Establishing immediate rapport and communicating effectively with prospective students, parents, high school counselors, and departments across campus. Organizing travel schedule to cover assigned territory and responsibilities. Organizing and/or participating in special events for prospective students and applicants, such as Preview Days and Departmental Showcases. Performing other duties/tasks as assigned by supervisors.Physical Demands:
Most of the job is performed sitting, whether at a desk or a conference table (for presentations). Some lifting/moving of boxes (publications, t-shirts) is required periodically. Manual dexterity is important in communicating with students and parents. A large portion of our communication is done electronically on a computer and sending emails.Work Hours:
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Additional hours if/when needed. Evening and weekend hours are common for specific recruitment activities and on-campus events.Special Instructions:

Level P1, Grade 7.Benefits Information:
Tennessee Tech. offers a competitive benefits package. Benefits include the accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits.Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Willingness and ability to travel as needed (both daytime, nighttime and weekends). A valid driver's license. Experience working with high school and/or college students. Strong interpersonal skills. Enthusiastic, outgoing, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Driven and self-motivated with ability to work responsibly with little supervision. Comprehensive understanding of software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and fundamental concepts of computer systems.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a related field. Experience with premiere customer service, public speaking, marketing, social media, or education/counseling areas. Experience coordinating projects and/or events.
