Position Summary The College Counselor guides high school students and families through the college admissions process, including college selection, applications, essays, academic planning, and financial aid resources. Key Responsibilities Advise students and families on college admissions and application strategies Support students with essays, resumes, and application materials Develop individualized college planning timelines Provide guidance on scholarships, FAFSA, and financial aid Conduct student and parent workshops or informational sessions Maintain accurate student records and progress updates Stay informed on college admissions trends and requirements Maintain database of student information Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred Experience in college counseling, admissions, or education Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Knowledge of college admissions processes and planning tools Ability to work independently and manage multiple students Preferred Qualifications Essay coaching experience Experience with diverse or international student populations Membership in organizations such as National Association for College Admission Counseling preferred Work Environment Flexible remote, hybrid, or on-site schedule with occasional evening or weekend availability during peak admissions periods.
