Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Developmental Specialist works with families to provide age-appropriate developmental services for infants and toddlers, 0-3 years of age. Developmental Specialists travel to meet families in their most natural environment often in their home or village. Developmental Specialists work within a multidiscipline team and help children and families transition into their next placement before the age of 3. A Developmental Specialist II will administer assessment and provide written report supporting their determinations, create Individual Family Service Plans and provide Child Outcome Summaries. This position will adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the BBAHC Policy and Procedures Manual and the State and Federal Rules and Regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in an early childhood special education, social work or a related field. Professional licensure/certification in teaching, social work, or master's degree in related field. Must have a minimum of one year experience working with young children. Must be able to work with in a team. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the child served in their case load. Will complete state-mandated Part C credentials the first six months on the job during regularly scheduled work hours. Must be able to obtain Alaska SEED credentials of level 10 or higher.
