About the
Role:
The Social Worker-MSW at UAB Medical West plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive support to individuals and families facing various challenges related to health and well-being. This position involves assessing clients' needs, developing tailored intervention plans, and facilitating access to necessary resources and services. The Social Worker will collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care, addressing both medical and psychosocial aspects. By advocating for clients and empowering them to navigate complex systems, the Social Worker contributes to improved health outcomes and enhanced quality of life. Ultimately, this role is vital in fostering a supportive environment that promotes resilience and recovery for those in need. $5,000SIGN-ON BONUS Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program. Current state licensure as a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW). BLS certified or must obtain within 30 days of hire.Preferred Qualifications:
Current state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is a plus. 6 months experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in acute care. Familiarity with community resources and support services available to clients.Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments of clients' social, emotional, and environmental needs. Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary teams. Provide counseling and support to clients and their families, helping them cope with challenges. Facilitate access to community resources, services, and support networks. Document client interactions and progress in compliance with organizational policies and regulations.Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong interpersonal and communication abilities, which are essential for building rapport with clients and collaborating with healthcare teams. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are utilized daily to assess client needs and develop effective intervention strategies. Empathy and active listening are vital in providing emotional support and understanding clients' unique situations. Organizational skills are necessary for managing case documentation and ensuring compliance with regulations.
