Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant, dynamic, and inclusive spiritual community as the Youth & Family Ministry Director. This is a vital role in an organization dedicated to inspiring and nurturing the spiritual growth of children, youth, and their families. In this position, you will lead engaging programs, foster meaningful relationships, and create a welcoming environment where diverse faith experiences and community flourish. Your leadership will empower volunteers, support families in their faith journeys, and strengthen our church's mission to serve as a beacon of hope and love. Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, and oversee youth and family programs that promote spiritual development, including Sunday school, youth groups, retreats, and special events. Provide mentorship and spiritual guidance to children and teenagers, fostering a safe space for open dialogue and growth. Collaborate with church leadership to align youth ministry initiatives with overall church goals and values. Train and support volunteer leaders, ensuring they are equipped with the skills needed for effective teaching, mentoring, and event planning. Organize outreach activities that engage families and the broader community in faith-based service projects and social events. Offer intention support and/or resources to families experiencing loss or hardship, providing compassionate care during difficult times. Lead fundraising efforts to support youth programs and ministry initiatives, including grant writing, event planning, and donor engagement. Skills Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate volunteers and staff while fostering teamwork. Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with children, teens, parents, and church members. Experience in teaching progressive, biblical, and/or New Thought principles within a faith-based setting. Strong event planning abilities to organize retreats, camps, workshops, and community outreach activities. Working knowledge of social work principles related to youth development, family dynamics, and bereavement support. Ability to mentor young people through life challenges while promoting positive values rooted in Unity principles. Familiarity with fundraising strategies to sustain program growth and expand outreach efforts. Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
