Job Description
Hirsch Academy is a K-6 elementary school dedicated to supporting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success of every student. We are seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and highly qualified School Social Worker to join our team on a contract basis for the 2026-2027 school year. The School Social Worker will provide comprehensive social work services to students and families, helping remove barriers to learning and promoting student well-being through assessment, intervention, consultation, and community resource coordination. Position Responsibilities The School Social Worker will: Provide individual and small-group counseling services to students. Conduct social-emotional and behavioral assessments as needed. Support students experiencing academic, behavioral, social, emotional, attendance, or family-related challenges. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and outside agencies to develop interventions and support plans. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including MTSS, Child Study, and special education meetings. Assist with crisis intervention, risk assessments, and student support planning. Help families access community resources and services. Support student attendance initiatives and address barriers to school participation. Maintain accurate and timely documentation, records, and reports. Provide consultation and training to school staff regarding student social-emotional needs. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to school social work services. Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school climate. Required Qualifications Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program. Valid Arizona social work license in good standing. Arizona certification/credential required to serve as a School Social Worker. Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. Experience working with school-aged children and families. Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed practices, behavior interventions, and community resources. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a School Social Worker in an elementary school setting. Experience working within MTSS and special education processes. Knowledge of Arizona educational regulations and school-based services. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
