School-Based Mental Health Professional - Concord Boyne & Concord Petoskey School-Based Mental Health Professional - Split between Concord Boyne & Concord Petoskey. Full time during school year, with potential summers hours. The Health Department of Northwest Michigan has a school based position available to provide group and individual services to area youth in our community. This is a full-time position during the school year, with required summer hours, which will be evaluated yearly. Learn more about us at www.nwhealth.org What you'll do Serve as a Master's level professional clinician performing a range of direct and indirect mental health outpatient services. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the school health division - in such a manner that fulfills HDNW mission, policies, and procedures. Clinicians must have the ability to adapt to the changing environment day-to-day to meet the needs of the students and school. Our program provides on-site comprehensive mental health services from mild to moderate severity of need. You would be responsible for referrals, tracking, and follow-up. There may be summer duties that include therapy, additional referrals, as well as time for training, completing grant reporting requirements, preparing for the new school year and community outreach activities. In addition to conducting individual therapy sessions, clinicians may implement therapeutic group curriculum and mental health education tailored to the needs of youth. Rapport building, engagement with students, and staff, and providing opportunities for students to practice life skills are essential to this position as well. Relationship building and clear communication with parents and families are necessary. What we offer Weekly supervision for licensure hours is provided for limited licensed staff, monthly supervision is provided for all new staff, in addition to monthly reflective supervision and case conferencing for all staff. We create a network of support internally for our school-based staff to case conference and/or ask questions of peers or leadership staff. Who you are We are seeking candidates who can work independently and demonstrate core values of service, social justice, dignity, and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. Requirements At time of hire, master's degree in social work or counseling and possession of an appropriate State of Michigan licensure - LMSW, LLMSW, LPC, LLPC. The candidate must have the ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally and be able to work well with others. Candidate may be expected to work minimal evening hours to attend parent teacher conferences or after school events. Preferred At least 6 months of experience providing individual and/or group therapy or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience working with persons individually or group therapy preferred. Candidates with experience using electronic medical records are preferred. Salary $51,650.56 - $58,106.70 per year. Pay is commensurate with years of experience.
