Training and Experience:
ELA I
- 1. Completion of the twelfth (12th) grade or equivalent. 2. One (1) year of successful experience working with children in a public or private school setting or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities may be considered. 3. Possession and maintenance of a valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate. ELA II

Completion of the twelfth (12th) grade or equivalent. 2. One (1) year of paid experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting or any combination of training experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities may be considered. 3. Possession of a valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate. 4. Successful completion of twelve (12) or more Early Childhood Education and/or Child Development units required. 5. Must obtain and maintain Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or above within six (6) months of hire.

Complete a minimum of 12 semester units of course work in early childhood education or child development (excluding field work), including at least one course of at least three semester units in each of the following core areas:
- Child/human growth and development.
- Child, family, and community, or child and family relations.
- Programs/curriculum.
2. Complete at least 50 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program, working at least three hours per day within the last two years. This experience must be verified by submitting an original letter from the employer on official letterhead. School-Age Emphasis under this option requires that 6 of the 12 semester units in early childhood/child development be in school age course work. Valid CPR and First Aid Certifications from an American Heart Association or American Red Cross approved ONLY , in-person course is required upon hire. No online certificates will be accepted. Incomplete applications will not be considered and note that a resume does not substitute an application. Please provide all related experience on the actual application. If you have the twelve (12) or more Early Childhood Education units, and would like to be considered for an ELA II placement, please provide transcripts.
