Parent Partner Norwalk, CA Job Details Full-time $28 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Spanish Caseload management English Mid-level High school diploma or GED Driver's License Working with children Child protective services Organizational skills Working with individuals with mental health conditions Passenger pickup and drop-off 1 year Home visits (communication methods) Community resource coordination Full Job Description Helpline Youth Counseling has an immediate opening for a Temporary Parent Partner who will provide Wraparound support services to parents and families. This position has a location of Norwalk and Long Beach.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Wraparound is family-centered, strength based, needs-driven, planning and servicing high-risk youth and their families. The Parent Partner will be part of a team called the Child and Family Team and the role of a Parent Partner will be to help navigate parents especially with linkages to resources. Maintain an active Wraparound caseload. Participate in the 24hour/7 days a week on-call system to assure that families can access support during times of need. Assist the Facilitator by providing direct services weekly to the client and family as identified in the CFT Matrix. Work directly with assigned parents in their respective environment, including in-home/out-of-home placements and their respective communities as identified in the CFT Matrix. Will be required to participate in required trainings. Must have excellent organizational skills and must complete all required reports and documentation in a timely manner. Will be responsible for transporting clients when required. High School Diploma Prior Personal Experience as a parent or legal guardian of a child who has been involved with the system (DCFS, probation, regional center, department of mental health required) Probation and/or DCFS case must be closed for a minimum of one year Two years of experience in a mental health setting strongly preferred Valid driver license for 1-year minimum, reliable transportation with registration and insurance Pass background check and TB test Work well in a team setting Bilingual in both Spanish and English, preferred Have PTTA trainings or Peer Support Specialist certification, preferred.
