Part-Time Social Worker - LGBTQ Program Family Builders - 3.5 Oakland, CA Job Details Part-time $53 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications Working with LGBTQ+ individuals Driver's License Working with families Working with individuals from underserved communities Full Job Description The Social Worker will implement an innovative program model to provide family engagement, advocacy and support to families of LGBTQ and gender expansive youth in foster care and/or at risk of entering care. The Social Worker will work with families and other caregivers of referred youth to build or rebuild relationships, educate and train, and provide other support as needed where there are challenges for family members in regards to the youth's sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. The goal of the project is to achieve permanency for LGBTQ youth. This position will provide these services to families throughout four counties: Marin, Sonoma, Solano, and Napa. 10-12 hours per week is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field. Fluency in Spanish is preferred. Experience working with youth in the foster care system and comprehensive SOGIE knowledge and experience working with LGBTQ youth. Experience working with African American and Latino families and communities. Current Driver's License and a working automobile are required. Willing to travel throughout the North Bay Area. Must be committed to the mission of the agency. LGBT individuals and people of color are encouraged to apply. The rate for this position is $53 per hour.
