Required Qualifications Two (2) years' experience with a social service department or agency Demonstrate clear and effective communication skills - Fluent bilingual English/Spanish required, Mixteco a plus Familiarity with case work Competencies Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Publisher, Word, Excel and Outlook). Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and providers. Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build trust and work effectively with diverse client populations. Ability to be flexible, innovative and adapt to the changing needs of the program, department and agency Essential Job Functions Determine family initial and/or ongoing eligibility and need for Federal/State programs; communicate with parents regarding any applicable family fees. Provide Enrollment Orientation to eligible families regarding parents' rights and responsibilities associated with Federal/State regulations. Gather and record family information and maintain orderly files. Maintain strict confidentiality of child/family record Determine continued eligibility, recertification and parent fees on an annual basis. Ensure accuracy/completeness & timely submission of eligibility and need documents and prepare necessary documentation for re-certification. Upon parent request, adjust income eligibility if it results in lowered/no family fee. Provide technical assistance through phone calls and in-person appointments to parents to assist families in compliance with Federal and State requirements. Input, update and maintain computer data files of all Alternative Payment Program children and families. Provide education and information to parents in need of finding a child care provider. Provide information and refer applicants to resources available within the agency and in the community. Maintain poise and courtesy, and be respectful toward diverse client populations. Work collaboratively with team members and act as a support to various other programs. Attend required trainings and monthly program meetings. Attend and participate in the Annual BRAVE Child Development Conference. Attend and participate in Agency outreach events. Must be able to speak, read, and write in fluent English and Spanish Performs any other like duties as assigned.
Accountability/Supervision Received:
Must have the ability to work flexible days as work may include evenings and weekends. Must maintain accurate calendar, and update supervisor of scheduling changes. Reports to Assistant Manager Family Services. This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Special Requirements:
Must successfully pass the Department of Justice (DOJ) criminal background check.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to carry out all essential functions satisfactorily; Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Approximately 50 percent of time is spent sitting. However, will frequently be required to walk, stand and bend. Must be able to talk and hear well. Good vision is imperative. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Required to lift and/or move unassisted up to 25 pounds.
