Family Support Services Assistant, Family Resource Center Child Parent Institute - 4.0 Santa Rosa, CA Job Details From $23.15 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Computer literacy Typing Video conferences (communication methods) Video conferencing systems operation Full Job Description Child Parent Institute provides supervised visitation for parents who can only see their children in a controlled environment. These visits occur at the CPI office and in the community on weekdays and weekends. Family Support Services Assistant ensure a safe visit for child and parent, documenting each visit with an observation report. CPI is committed to a diverse, inclusive and equitable work environment. CPI. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED Must be at least 21 years of age Experience or Degree in related field (i.e., child development, social work, human services, et al.) Flexible hours (able to work evenings 3 - 7pm and Saturdays 8:30 - 5pm) Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing Comfortable working with high risk multi-challenged families Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Drive, Zoom) Ability to type 20+ WPM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The FSSA is solely responsible for enforcement of all the terms and conditions of any supervised visit. The terms and conditions for any supervised visit, unless otherwise ordered by the court, are as follows: FSSA conditions to assure the safety and welfare of the child. Enforce the frequency and duration of the visits as ordered by the court. Ensure that all contact between the child and the non-custodial party is within the provider's hearing and sight at all times, and that discussions are audible to the provider, unless a different order is issued by the court. Speak in the language spoken by the child and non-custodial party. Ensure that the parties follow any additional rules set forth by the provider or the court. Document activity and engagement of visit to submit to social worker or family court services.
Perform cleaning duties such as:
vacuuming, emptying garbage, wiping down tables, chairs, toys, and other high-touch surfaces. Follow Covid safety protocol Provide brief Parent Education coaching and conflict resolution strategies to families. Report any incident, accident during visit in writing to the program manager. Finalize typed visit report document form within one week of visit. Attend weekly staff meetings. Complete daily timesheet after each working day. Read/respond to employee e-mail for work schedule and communication from staff. Other duties as assigned. In addition, the FSSA must: Avoid any attempts to take sides with either party. Allow no derogatory comments about the other parent, his or her family, caretaker, child or child's siblings. Allow no discussion of the court case or possible future outcomes. Allow no provider nor the child to be used to gather information about the other party or caretaker or to transmit documents, information, or personal possessions. Allow no spanking, hitting, or threatening of the child. Allow no visit to occur while the visiting party appears to be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. Allow no emotional, verbal, physical, or sexual abuse.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 25 lbs (supplies) Prolonged sitting and working on a computer and telephone.
