Social Worker Emotional Support at Johnstonville Elementary School District Print Application Deadline Until Filled Date Posted 4/29/2026 Contact Scott Smith (530) 257-2471 Number of Openings 1 Salary Pay Range $55,000 - $66,837 Annually Add'l Salary Info Depending Upon Experience and Licensing Status Length of Work Year 183 Days Employment Type Full Time Job Summary Job Summary The Social Worker Emotional Support employee will:
  • Accurately identify social/emotional needs of children and adolescence in a TK-8th grade academic setting that interfere with the student's educational attainment.
  • Collaborate with administrator or designee and general/special education teachers to develop and implements evidenced-based supports and school-based interventions for students.
  • Utilize Positive Behavior Support interventions with students who are identified as needing school-based Emotional Support
  • Support and develop appropriate tier-one interventions.
  • Create and maintain tier-two support interventions, including the development and monitoring of SST and 504 meetings.
  • Create and implement tier-three interventions for students needing social/emotional supports.
  • Provide Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) as provided in IEPs.
  • Attend IEP meetings, as needed, to provide input regarding ERMHS.
  • Assess and facilitate appropriate interventions for students in crisis.
  • Collaborate with students, caregivers, and community partners to make appropriate referrals for identified support needs.
  • Engage in continuing education courses, and professional development trainings, to develop ongoing positive behavioral skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and a Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) or Assistant working under supervision (BCaBA)
  • Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, behavioral analysis, or a closely related field. Substantial progress toward a Masters degree may be considered.
  • Experience working with student with emotional support needs.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing behavioral data with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Experience creating and implementing Positive Behavioral Support Plans.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with students receiving special education services required
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support
  • A minimum of one-year experience working with children and adolescents in a school-setting.
