Lead Instructional Coach Position Summary:

The Floater 2 plays a vital support role across multiple classrooms within the Sundale Foundation program. This position ensures proper staff-to-child ratios are maintained, assists with daily routines such as snack and playground supervision, and provides instructional support when needed. The Floater 2 is also expected to step into a substitute role and confidently execute lesson plans in the after-school program setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support multiple classrooms by moving between rooms as needed to maintain compliance with staff-to-child ratios
• Assist teachers with classroom management, transitions, and daily activities
• Prepare, distribute, and clean up snacks in accordance with program guidelines
• Supervise children during outdoor play and ensure a safe, engaging playground environment
• Step in as a substitute teacher when required, including leading activities and implementing lesson plans
• Execute after-school lesson plans with consistency, creativity, and attention to student engagement
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for children and staff
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of shared spaces and materials
• Communicate effectively with staff regarding classroom needs and student concerns
• Follow all licensing regulations, safety procedures, and organizational policies

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in early childhood education or related field preferred
• Previous experience working with children in a classroom, childcare, or after-school setting
• Demonstrated ability to manage groups of children in a structured environment
• Flexible, dependable, and able to adapt quickly to changing needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow and implement lesson plans independently
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
