Company Overview Morongo Basin Unity Home Inc. is a dedicated nonprofit organization providing shelter and outreach services for victims of domestic violence. Our mission is to create a safe haven for individuals and families affected by abuse, offering counseling, legal advocacy, and support to help them regain control of their lives. Summary As a Domestic Violence Advocate at Morongo Basin Unity Home Inc., you will play a vital role in supporting victims of domestic violence through crisis intervention and advocacy. This position is essential in helping individuals navigate their challenges while promoting safety, empowerment, and healing. Responsibilities Must be local to Morongo Basin Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to victims of domestic violence. Assist clients in navigating legal processes, including restraining orders and family law matters. Facilitate support groups and educational workshops to empower clients. Collaborate with community resources to ensure comprehensive support for clients. Conduct assessments to identify client needs and develop individualized service plans. Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress in accordance with confidentiality policies. Advocate for clients' rights within the legal system and community organizations. Support the shelter staff in creating a safe environment for residents. Model a healthy home environment Cooking, cleaning, home projects to name a few additional duties. Working as an Advocate is NOT a desk job. We are a 24/7/365 Organization. Must be flexible in availability, i.e. weekends/week days/nights. Also, must be local to the Morongo Basin, Desert Hot Springs to 29 Palms .
