Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work or a related field required Must hold a Colorado Special Services Provider (SSP) License or be eligible to obtain SSP licensure immediately. Must have prior school-based experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of child development, behavior management, and counseling techniques. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students, families, and staff. Understanding of relevant laws and regulations related to special education and student support services. Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling services to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties. Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans to address students' specific needs. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to develop and implement strategies to support student success. Advocate for students' rights and ensure they have access to necessary resources and services. Offer crisis intervention services when needed and provide support during difficult situations. Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with school policies and regulations. Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and evaluate individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. Promote a positive school climate through the implementation of programs and initiatives that address bullying prevention and social-emotional learning.
