Key Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program Current state licensure to practice as a School Social Worker Experience providing support in K-12 school environments is highly desirable Solid understanding of child and adolescent development, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed practices Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with students, staff, and families Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assess students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs through interviews and collaboration with staff and families Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to support students' academic and personal growth Provide crisis intervention and ongoing counseling services to students in need Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP development and Response to Intervention (RTI) processes Connect families with community resources and coordinate referrals as necessary Deliver professional development or training to staff on relevant topics (e.g., mental health awareness, de-escalation techniques) Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and comply with district, state, and federal guidelines Perks of this role include working in a supportive environment, the satisfaction of making a difference in students' lives, and valuable experience in a dynamic school setting.
