PRIMARY FUNCTION
The FamilyCommunity Engagement Coordinator serves as a key connector between Wakeman BoysGirls Club (WBGC), families, and the greater community. This role is responsible for building meaningful relationships, increasing awareness of WBGC programs, and ensuring families are connected to critical youth development and childcare services. Acting as an in-house advocate, the coordinator will represent WBGC within the community, strengthen partnerships with local stakeholders (including schools and municipalities), and lead outreach efforts that drive enrollment and engagement across all program areas.
KEY ROLES
(Essential Job Responsibilities): Family EngagementAdvocacy Serve as a trusted point of contact for families, providing guidance, support, and connections to WBGC programs and services Advocate on behalf of families to ensure their needs are heard and addressed Support families through the enrollment and program registration processes Community OutreachPartnerships Act as a liaison between WBGC and community partners, including schools, the Board of Education, and municipal agencies Build and maintain strong relationships with community-based organizations, faith-based groups, and local leaders Work with Membership Directors and the Resource Development team to identify and engage in community events that align with youth development, early childhood education, after-school programming, and summer enrichment Program PromotionEnrollment Promote WBGC offerings, including: Early Childhood (ages 3-5) After-School Programs (ages 6-12) Summer Camp Services (ages 6-12) Teen Programs (ages 13-18) Connect families to appropriate services and increase participation across all program areas Work with Director of MarketingCommunications to develop marketing collateral (print and digital) to distribute to prospective families Event PlanningCoordination Develop and manage a calendar of outreach events and engagement opportunities Plan, coordinate, and attend community events, resource fairs, and school-based activities Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful execution of outreach efforts Data CollectionReporting Create and implement systems to capture participant information at events (e.g., demographics, interests, needs, and prospective enrollments) Track outreach efforts and maintain accurate records of engagement activities Provide regular reports on community engagement outcomes and trends Support grant writing/reporting process

RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct, and advise/counsel.
External:
Maintain contact as needed with WBGC staff, external community groups, members' parents and others to assist in resolving issues.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual (preferred; Spanish strongly encouraged) Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills Outgoing, approachable, and passionate about working with families and communities Experience in community engagement, family services, education, or a related field preferred Demonstrated ability to work with diverse and underserved populations Strong organizational and event coordination skills Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed, approximately 20 hours/week.
