To help students resolve personal, emotional, and social problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their capacity to enjoy the fullest benefits of the education offered
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned as necessary Perform casework service with individual students to correct those personal, social or emotional mal-adjustments related to their educational and social progress. Perform casework service with parents to increase the parents' understanding, their constructive participation in resolving their child's problems, and their knowledge and use of appropriate resources available. Consult and collaborate with other school personnel in gathering and giving information on a case, and in establishing and planning for respective roles in the modification of the student's behavior. Home visits will be a requirement for this position. Serve as liaison between home and school when considerable follow-up is necessary, as in welfare cases, foster home children, and disadvantaged children. Assist students directly toward adjustment to school. Collect and organize data for presentation and keep records of cases for use by school staff members and outside agencies when appropriate. Complete all necessary paperwork, forms and referrals. Schedule and facilitate weekly team meetings. Maintain and distribute agendas and meeting minutes. Attend district team meetings. Maintain and distribute agendas and meeting minutes. Attend district team leader meetings to provide updates on the SFAC team. Knowledge and experience int he PPT and EIP process. Knowledge of the tiered intervention process, SRBI.
Qualifications :
Appropriate Connecticut Certification Relevant experience necessary
