04/30/2026 Family Advocate Central Avenue Preschool The Family Advocate will assist all Component Managers in fulfilling responsibilities by: Recruit and enroll all eligible families. Update, maintain and monitor all family/child documentation, (enrollment, contacts, family goals/assessments, referrals, attendance - list is not inclusive). Home visitation as needed. Make referrals and follow-up for all program components. Assisting in the identification and assessment of community resources. Facilitate parent involvement in all areas of program operation. Availability for monthly evening parent meetings/workshops. Assist in linking family/child to on-going health system or community support services. Participate in educational and professional programs for personal and program growth and development. Record/document/track all pertinent health, social service and educational information in child's file and tracking systems. Inputs child and family information into the data collection system. Direct participation in classroom educational activities. Assist and attend in the planning and preparation of parent workshops. Assist in establishing and maintaining good effective communication with local educational, medical and community agencies in providing services for children and families. Assists in other program areas as designated by the Director. Visit classrooms (one) day weekly or as needed to monitor children's files and assist teachers.
REQUIREMENTS
Proficient in Microsoft Office and tracking/data entry systems Evidence of emotional maturity and stability. Acceptable oral and written communication skills. Ability to work in a warm supportive and positive manner with parents, children and staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Good physical health. Good organizational time management skills.
EDUCATION
Bachelors or Associates Degree in Human Service, Social Work, Psychology or related Field and one year experience in public/private agencies. In lieu of education a combination of experience and training working with children and families will be considered. (Family Development Credential Preferred).
