Job Description
About us Family & Children's Aid (FCA) is a non-profit organization offering high quality, innovative mental health care for children and their families. The Full Time Family Time Specialist will provide direct visit coaching services to families referred by DCF who are in need of Family Time visits; collaborate with DCF, biological families, children, and caregivers to provide visit services.
Available Shift:
- Tuesday
- Friday 11:00 am
- 7:30 pm and Saturdays 9:00am
- 5:30pm with a 30-minutes unpaid lunch during each shift.
Responsibilities:
- Provide coaching services to family.
- Collaborate with DCF, biological families, children, and caregivers to provide visit services.
- De-escalate emotional and behavioral problems that may arise.
- Provide direct supervision of transportation services.
- Related experience working with children who have behavioral and emotional difficulties is strongly preferred.
Requirements:
- Must have a clean criminal history.
- Must have a clean pre-employment drug test, post-offer physical and TB screening.
- Must be punctual, arrive on time for shifts, and follow agency procedure for absences.
- Must have knowledge, skills, abilities, and the desire to work with children and adolescents.
- Must be flexible to work a few hours prior to or after regular scheduled shift.
- May work some holidays.
- Valid CT driver's license and clean driving record preferred.
- Related experience working with clients who have behavioral and emotional difficulties strongly preferred.
