April 22, 2026 - April 28, 2026 by 3:00 P.M. Wayne-Westland Community Schools is located in the metropolitan Detroit area, between Ann Arbor and Detroit. Our staff provides the very best educational opportunities for approx. 10,000 students from Westland, Wayne, Canton, Livonia, Garden City, Dearborn Heights, Inkster, and Romulus. The Wayne-Westland Community School district is comprised of ten elementary schools (K-5), three middle schools (6-8), and two high schools (9-12). We also have an early childhood center, an ultra-modern facility for career/technical training, an alternative high school, and a thriving online program. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Others duties may be assigned- Provide social emotional learning support for students (general education and special education)
- through implementation of SEL competencies
- Observe, assess social emotional skills of students and determine eligibility for interventions as
- appropriate
- Observe, develop, implement, monitor and modify intervention plans based behavior assessment of student as appropriate
- Support staff in understanding and implementation of SEL competencies
- Documentation of student and family contacts
- Provide support for multi tiered system of supports (MTSS) and the building/district crisis team
- Complete IEP, MET, Medicaid and treatment forms/reports
- Maintain treatment/progress notes and Medicaid documentation per professional standards
- Professional collaboration and communication
- Regular and predictable attendance
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Licensed School Social Worker per R340.1792 and R340.1799f
- Pediatric experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must have good organizational skills
- Must have good written and oral language ability
- Good interpersonal skills with children and adults
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This person must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time and must be able to move about the classroom, building, etc. as needed. This person must be able to communicate with students, parents, other teachers and administrators and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. At times, this employee may engage in physical management with students in order to maintain a safe environment for students and others. The employee may need to travel to different work locations.WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is frequently required to interact with students, staff and occasionally with the public. The amount of contract, length of the workday and the number of workdays is based on the WWEA collective bargaining agreement.EVALUATION
