Job Description
Summary The Youth Program Supervisor should exude confidence, be detail-oriented, take initiative and have strong interpersonal skills. A successful candidate must be knowledgeable in youth programming and experience planning and executing successful child and teen programs, youth-oriented special events and summer camps. The ideal candidate will be positive, creative and can successfully communicate and work with parents and youth of all ages. This individual shall assist with overseeing the operation, supervising, scheduling, training and the development of the youth staff. The Youth Program Supervisor will monitor and assess service quality and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues, to be discussed with the Director of Youth and Family Programs to make appropriate improvements. Essential Functions Job duties include, although are not limited to:
- Supervise members of the youth staff and 3rd party vendors.
- Interact with members and guests at ideal times such as nights, weekends and holidays, to lead the Youth Programming team by example.
- Lead, host and participate in supervised youth and family programs to create meaningful and memorable events.
- Inspire, guide and support the Youth Program team.
- Provides input and submits evaluations for team members to the Director of Youth and Family Programs. The Director of Youth and Family Programs is responsible for personally delivering the evaluations to the respective team member.
- With the assistance of the of Youth and Family Programs, he/she is responsible for assisting in the preparation of and reviewing the format and description of the youth portion of all promotional materials, primarily email confirmations, push notifications, Compass, flyer, poster, menus, club happenings, member website and app.
- Ensure and maintain a physically and emotionally safe and secure environment for youth to participate in youth activities
- Monitor use of the facility and address and/or report potential hazards.
- Maintain inventory levels and order as needed while adhering to budgetary restrictions
- Know, follow and enforce all company policies and procedures.
- The candidate will serve as the point of contact in the absence of the Director
- Performs related duties as required/assigned by the Director of Youth and Family Programs.
- The ideal candidate will have occupied a recreation or childcare supervisor role or higher for 2+ years.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to supervise subordinate staff, including, but not limited to, assignment of duties, evaluating service, and taking disciplinary action when necessary.
- Ability to prepare and analyze data, figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.
- Must possess moderate computer skills. Education/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
- A minimum of two years experience in a similar position.
