  • Full-time San Ignacio University is seeking a highly organized and student-focused professional to join our team as an International Student Services Coordinator / Designated School Official (DSO) .
This position plays a key role in supporting international students throughout their academic journey while ensuring compliance with federal immigration regulations and university policies. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted resource for F-1 students, providing guidance on immigration matters, academic requirements, and student success initiatives while maintaining accurate SEVIS records and supporting institutional compliance efforts. Primary Responsibilities Manage and maintain F-1 student records in SEVIS and ensure compliance with all federal reporting requirements. Prepare, process, and issue immigration documents, including Forms I-20 and related student records. Provide guidance to prospective and current international students regarding visa regulations, enrollment requirements, employment authorization options, and maintenance of status. Review and process requests related to
CPT, OPT, STEM
OPT, reduced course loads, program extensions, reinstatements, and transfers. Monitor student enrollment, academic progress, and immigration compliance. Serve as a resource for students navigating cultural adjustment, academic challenges, and campus life. Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Admissions, Registrar, Student Services, and other departments to support international student success. Coordinate orientation programs and informational workshops for new and continuing international students. Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with university, SEVP, and DHS regulations. Stay informed of changes in immigration laws, SEVIS requirements, and best practices in international education. Assist with audits, reporting requirements, and institutional compliance initiatives. Provide exceptional customer service while fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for a diverse student population. Qualifications Minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a Designated School Official (DSO). Strong knowledge of
SEVIS, SEVP
regulations, and F-1 student immigration requirements. Experience advising international students in a higher education environment. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Bachelor's degree required.
