Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Creole-Speaking Supervised Visitation Specialist to facilitate safe, positive, and culturally sensitive visitation sessions between children and their families. In this vital role, you will serve as a neutral professional, ensuring that visits occur in a secure environment while promoting healthy family interactions. Your expertise in social work, child welfare, and crisis management will help foster meaningful connections and support family reunification efforts. Fluency in Creole is essential to effectively communicate and build trust with diverse families. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a lasting impact on children's lives and strengthen family bonds through compassionate supervision and intervention. Duties Supervise scheduled visitations between children and their parents or guardians, ensuring safety and adherence to court orders or case plans Use motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive family interactions and address behavioral challenges Manage conflicts or behavioral issues during visits with calmness, patience, and effective conflict management strategies Conduct crisis intervention when necessary, de-escalating tense situations and providing immediate support for emotional or behavioral crises Maintain detailed documentation of each visit, including observations, incidents, and any concerns related to child safety or well-being Collaborate with child protective services, family law professionals, and behavioral health providers to support case goals Promote a culturally sensitive environment by utilizing fluency in Creole to facilitate communication and understanding with families from diverse backgrounds Experience Prior experience working in child welfare, social work, or family services is highly preferred Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, families, and individuals with disabilities in a supportive setting Knowledge of child protective services protocols, family law procedures, and child development principles Experience utilizing motivational interviewing techniques and crisis intervention skills in high-pressure situations Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense interactions calmly and professionally Familiarity with behavioral health concepts relevant to children and families facing trauma or crisis situations Bilingual fluency in Creole and English is required; additional language skills are a plus Join us in creating a nurturing environment where families can reconnect safely and positively. Pay:
$23.16 - $27.89 per hour
