Our mission is to stop domestic violence abuse for everyone through intervention, education and advocacy.

Monday - Friday, Full time 40 hours per week to include some flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. Workplace Location(s): Based at DCF Child Protective Services and/or ChildNet with regular travels to Broward County Courthouses, law enforcement agencies, and other locations.Qualifications:
Preferred Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field or 3 years' experience in social services. Computer literate. Previous experience working in the child welfare system and/or criminal justice system preferred. Valid Florida driver's license. Safe driving record. Proof of automobile liability insurance.Bilingual Spanish Preferred General Job Description:
The position serves as the expert on child welfare-involved domestic violence cases and helps build the capacity of child welfare professionals to partner with survivors and hold batterers accountable. The Domestic Violence Child Welfare Advocate will provide crisis de-escalation, safety planning, counseling, social service referrals, and advocacy as well as, registration services to survivors of domestic violence at Broward Sheriff's Office, a Community Based Care Provider, other partner sites and at Women In Distress' main campus. Also, the Domestic Violence Child Welfare Advocate will provide consultation to Broward Sheriff's Office Child Protective Investigations staff, ChildNet and partner agency staff on domestic violence cases as well as host trainings centered on the dynamics of domestic violence, batterer accountability and safety planning. Domestic Violence Child Welfare Advocate will provide assistance to survivors who are involved in court proceedings: e.g., orientation to procedures, emotional support, and attend court hearings. Domestic Violence Child Welfare Advocate will review confidential victim referrals submitted by CPI for the purpose of providing and/or coordinating case consultation services, assists in the plan to link the participant to crisis intervention, emotional support, short term counseling, financial assistance, shelter, or other related assistance as indicated. The Domestic Violence Child Welfare Advocate will also be required to participate in all trainings and in quarterly conference calls facilitated by FCADV that is related to the CPI project. Domestic Violence Child Welfare Advocate will attend community service provider meetings and community action team meetings as required.Additional requirements:
Upon hire, candidate will be required to take the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Core Competency training and obtain a passing grade of 75% or higher. If selected, candidate will be required to undergo a Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level II background screeningPay:
