Provides necessary social services to referred students including home visits, conferences, referrals to other school resources and/or community agencies, or other services as appropriate. Provides regular feedback to the referral source on the development of cases referred and develops with the referral source a problem resolution plan. Organizes, participates in, and contributes to special projects aimed at improving school attendance. Furnishes local and state reports as required. Carries out school social work duties in accordance with the policies and procedures of the local school system, and the laws of the State of Georgia related to compulsory school attendance. Participates regularly in staff development and in service activities for professional growth and/or certification upgrade. Coordinates matters relating to child abuse with schools and serves as a resource person to the schools in this area. Works cooperatively with other agencies in the community in resolving individual and family problems which interfere with the school attendance of students. Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization.Terms of Employment:
Incumbents will receive an annual contract. The work calendar will be 190 days. Salary will be determined based on level of certification an allowable experience.
