  • Full-time Families First is looking for an individual to join our team as a Facilitator! This position will serve the city of Waukee in Dallas, Story, and Boone Counties and surrounding areas in Iowa; regular travel is required. Job Responsibilities Solution Focused Meetings (SFM)
  • Understands principles and purpose of solution focused meetings and youth transition decision making team meetings.
  • Demonstrate the skills to prepare for, facilitate and complete follow-up solution focused meetings as a means for creating sustainable family change.
  • Demonstrate the skills to prepare for, facilitate and complete follow-up youth transition decision making team meetings as a means for enabling youth transition from foster care to become active participants in their lives and make strategic decisions for their future.
  • Set and maintain the environment: Facilitate in a manner that supports a trust-based environment, assuring team members to be respectful, attentive, friendly, and culturally competent.
  • Manage the facilitation process.
  • Develop a case plan for the family during the solution focused meeting that accurately identifies the strategies and agreements made during the solution focused meeting. Child Safety Conferences (CSC)
  • Demonstrate the skills necessary to schedule and successfully facilitate the initial CSC within 3 business days of the referral.
  • Produce a Child Safety Conference Plan document that will guide a unique blend of services designed to address the identified and immediate needs of the family to mitigate danger and prevent removal from the caregiver home.
  • Demonstrate the skills necessary to schedule and facilitate a follow up CSC within 10 calendar days from the day of the initial CSC. Qualifications
  • Education requirements: o Associate's Degree from an accredited college/university recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in Human Services related field and 2-years full-time Child Welfare experience; or o A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1-year full-time child welfare experience; or o A Master's Degree from an accredited college/university recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1-year full-time child welfare experience.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Iowa driver's license and personal automobile insurance.
  • Have immediate access to reliable transportation.
  • Have a passion for serving Iowa's children and families, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
