1. PEL with School Counseling endorcement 2. Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling 3. Teaching experience and experience as a guidance counselor
REPORTS TO
Associate Principal
SUPERVISES
N/A
PURPOSE OF JOB
To counsel students and to help them develop into mature productive self-reliant and happy people.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Respond to and process all student referrals. 2. Counsel for personal, social, academic and career matters for their assigned part of the alphabetical breakdown. 3. Meet with each senior to discuss their career and post-secondary plans. 4. Arrange academic programming and registration of their counselees for both the fall and spring semester. 5. Meet with all new students and parents to discuss the schedules and school policies. 6. Assist the College Counselor assigned to coordinate College Night. 7. Provide financial aid and scholarship information to their alphabetical breakdown. 8. Process all college applications that fall within their alphabetical breakdown. 9. Provide college information to all junior students and their parents in the spring. Provide information and assist students with college testing and other types of testing 10. Perform other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
