Key Skills and Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program Valid state licensure as a School Social Worker Previous experience working in K-12 school environments Strong crisis intervention and counseling abilities Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families Knowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) process preferred Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct counseling and intervention services to students experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to design and implement strategies that foster student success Conduct assessments, collect data, and support the development of IEPs and 504 plans Deliver classroom presentations and group sessions on relevant social/emotional topics Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community resources Advocate for students and their right to a supportive and inclusive school environment Document interventions and progress while maintaining confidential records This contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to serve diverse student populations while collaborating with a dedicated educational team.
